To better understand the crest, first read the Behrenglen Storyline.
First, the green field was chosen to represent the village from which Etienne originated, Behren. The main image being a
stylized rose-knot in silver is reference to the symbol of Alaejzia, the silver rose.
The Celtic knotwork represents the land from which Etienne most recently came. Having spent years with the Celts, who finally
led him to Avalon, he pays homage to them (and besides, he likes it, it's pretty!).
The symbol above and below the main image is a celtic knot-style fleur de lis, in reference to his first arrival in France.
The two dragons emerging from the image represent Etleon and Namorill, the elvish dragons and Etienne's guides.
The four inscriptions upon the design are in Alaejzian Elven, and read as follows:
| POSITION | | ELVISH | | COMMON |
| North | | Jzonsuhle | | Wisdom |
| East | | Shorn | | Craft |
| South | | Mohurie | | Beauty |
| West | | Vrit | | Truth |
